Superstar Stormy Antarctic wins Group 2

Our globe trotter Stormy Antarctic has arrived back at Kingsdown safe and well after winning the Group 2 Premio Presidente Della Repubblica at Capanelle racecourse in Italy on Sunday under a fantastic front running ride by Frankie Dettori. This is the first time Frankie has partnered up with Stormy and he was very complimentary about his attitude following the race. It was a great performance once again and he never saw another horse, with Gary reporting after that he didn't even have a blow.

Stormy really is the model of consistency, he never runs a bad race and at 6 years old seems better than ever. This was his 13th trip overseas and his 5th victory in a Group race. He has had the perfect start to his season, winning a Group 3 in Germany on his first start followed by this Group 2 in Italy. He is sure to have a go at a big one again this season and it would be a dream come true if he were to win a Group 1 during his career and even better if he were to be the yards first Group 1 success. We are extremely fortunate to have him in the yard and he is a joy to train and deal with.

He will obviously have a quiet few days to recover from his trip and will get going again when he is ready, something he is very good at telling myself and my Assistant Jack who rides him every day.
