Ibtekar makes all to break her maiden at Newmarket

A landmark 90th victory and another two-year-old winner for the Kingsdown Stables team, ARM Racing's Ibtekar opened her account at the second time of asking when beating stablemate Gorgonzola home at Newmarket.

Ibtekar set the fractions at the head of affairs of this seven furlong race after breaking well from the stalls. Racing on the near side in the hands of Kieran Shoemark, this daughter of Night of Thunder out of Lovely Pass (Raven's Pass) asserted her dominance when the two groups merged two furlongs out, quickly gaining a clear advantage over the other 10 runners in this Class 3 race. Extending this advantage all the way over the line, Ibtekar won by two and a half lengths and appears an exciting prospect going forward. Congratulations to her connections.

Congratulations also to Chasemore Farm, whose 80-1 shot Gorgonzola (Zoustar X Illaunglass) stayed on gamely to follow stablemate Ibtekar home into second on debut.
