Glorious Lover, Gallic & Iconic Knight run today

A reasonably quiet day for a Saturday, we are sending out just the 3 runners today.

First up we have Glorious Lover who takes his chance against only 4 rivals in the King Charles Listed stakes at Newmarket at 2.40pm. He came out of his Newcastle run extremely well and I’m looking forward to seeing him back in Listed company today. I think he will be better on grass, but I am slightly concerned about the track as Newmarket is very undulating and he has not experienced anything like that before. Liam Keniry rides as he knows him from home and, so hopefully he can make another step forward and this race will tell us whether to run him in the Jersey at Royal Ascot or the Brittania.

Gallic (pictured with Hannah Fraser on board) runs next at 6.35pm in the 3yo Handicap over a mile. She is in really good order and has been ready to go for a while but the ground has been frustrating. I am hoping they do not get any rain at Doncaster today or tomorrow as this could scupper plans once again, but I'm hoping she will go well here, hopefully on her way to Royal Ascot. She looks fabulous, is moving well and has hopefully come on a lot for her seasonal reappearance at Newmarket so lets hope the rain stays away.

Lastly, Iconic Knight lines up at 8.05pm at Doncaster in the 6f Handicap. He looks a picture of health and has improved for his first run back at Ascot, so I’m hoping that back down in class and on a flat 6f he can get back to winning ways. Liam Keniry is back in the plate and obviously knows him very well, having won on him and ridden him plenty of times. There is a bit of rain around which wont do him any harm.
