Empirical comes from last to win at Newbury

Empirical recorded his third career success when landing the Class 4 Fitzdares Handicap at Newbury, run over 1m 2f.

Adopting his customary late-running style, the three-year-old son of Kingman, out of Hidden Breeze (Dark Angel), settled at the rear of the field in the hands of Kieran Shoemark. Looking like he had plenty to do from 3f out, Empirical stayed on gamely when under pressure to win by three quarters of a length.
