Black Star Boy and Mister Whippy land double for owner TBT Racing
A great day for all the team and owner TBT Racing with Black Star Boy and Mister Whippy both winning at Haydock.
Racing prominently, Black Star Boy took a keen hold in the early part of this six furlong handicap. A three-year-old son of Starman out of Chatham Island (Elusive Quality), Black Star Boy was headed within the final furlong, but battled back to win in the hands of Kieran Shoemark.
There was little time to wait before Mister Whippy opened his account and made it a double on the day for owners TBT Racing and jockey Kieran Shoemark. Winning a Nursey Handicap over seven furlongs, this two-year-old by Starspangledbanner out of Oh So True (American Pharoah), raced in the middle of the seven runner field. Showing a smart turn of foot within the final furlong Mister Whippy won going away with a two and a half length advantage over the second place horse.
